The following project reference describes the use of Woodward’s easYgen3000XT genset controller in an emergency power control system for a public facility in compliance with VDE0100-718. The controller is utilized for grid parallel operation, overlap synchronization, and reverse synchronization functions. The system also requires monthly test operations of the mains genset without house load or load resistance. The grid unit is loaded with a minimum of 50%. During overlap synchronization, loads are transferred to the genset without interruption and disconnected from the grid. The genset operates with the actual house load during the trial. After a power failure and subsequent grid restoration, resynchronization is used to reconnect loads to the grid without further interruption. The project utilizes a Rittal control cabinet and Woodward easYgen3000XT control module.
